Individuals interested in a part-time position are required to be a certified Firefighter and either an EMT-P or EMT-B.

The district offers different levels of part time positions based on certification and shift needs. 

Qualified individuals wishing to apply for a part time position can APPLY HERE

If you are not certified as both a Firefighter and EMT-P or EMT-B, the district hosts a BOF academy and EMT-B class annually.

If you are interested in obtaining your firefighter certification, the Basic Operation Firefighter (BOF) Academy for recruits is accepting applications at this time. 

The recruit academy generally runs from early February through June, with classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm and typically 8:00 am - 12:00 pm on Fridays.

Applications can be turned into ECFPD station 1, 200 E. Rt 38 Elburn IL, 60119.  

Applications will be available starting August 15th for the February 2026 academy. 

If you are interested in obtaining your EMT-B certification, the EMT-B Class is not accepting applications at this time.

Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District will be hosting their annual EMT-B class in the fall of 2026. Classes will meet Monday, Wednesday & Fridays from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Applications will be available starting July 1st for the Fall 2026 program.
